The reference exchange rate ups to 4.2290 lei against euro



The reference exchange rate settled by the central lender BNR inched 0.17 percent to 4.2290 lei per euro today, after the national currency dipped to 4.24 in mid-session, in line with the evolution of other regional currencies, NewsIn informs.
BNR established a reference exchange rate of 4.2218 lei per euro yesterday.

The single European currency was traded for 4.2190 lei at opening bell and lost ground to 4.2080 after the first transactions. The leu lowered constantly to 4.2390 and at 1:50 p.m. banks were buying an euro with 4.2340 lei and selling it for 4.2370 lei.

Emergent currencies also depreciated versus the euro in today's session. The forint plummeted from 294.90 to 297.20 over the euro, while the zloty initially inched from 4.5630 to 4.5535 versus the euro, then fell to 4.5835 and came back to 4.5630 afterwards.

BNR's reference exchange rate also indicates a 1.17 percent decline of the national currency versus the U.S. dollar, to 3.2476 lei per dollar, from 3.2099 in the previous session.
