Badea& Associatii merges with Clifford Chance
Local law firms Badea & Asociatii and Clifford Chance, one of the biggest players in local market agreed to merge as of May 1, after functioning in association as of 2006.
Bucharest-based office of Clifford Chance will operate under the name Badea Clifford Chance, the managing Partner Daniel Badea remaining in office.
Daniel Badea, legal advisor on banking and capital markets, and Nadia Badea, specialized in real estate and mergers and acquisitions will be the first Romanian global partners of a Magic Circle company.
“The merger with Clifford Chance is strengthening a 7-year collaboration, based on standards, clients and common approaches, and offers an impressive platform enabling an ongoing development in South-East Europe”, Daniel Badea announced.
Clifford Chance opened branch in Bucharest in June 2006 after sealing association with Badea & Asociatii, forecasting the merger within three years. Badea & Asociatii was established in 2002 by Daniel Badea and Nadia Badea. Bucharest-based office has four partners and 50 attorneys.
Clifford Chance is operational in Central and Eastern Europe since 1991, after opening a branch in Moscow. Since then, its regional presence grew at a constant pace, now having 36 partners and 320 attorneys in Bucharest, Budapest, Moscow, Prague, Warsaw and Kiev. Globally, the company is encompassing 30 branches in 21 countries and over 3,800 lawyers.
