Car scrappage scheme, available for SME?

National Council of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises in Romania (CNIPMMR) seeks for approval to include legal persons in the second stage of the car scrappage scheme, said Ion Glisca, vicepresident of the council.
“We propose the admittance of legal persons, leasing and light-weight vehicles in this year’s car scrappage scheme as of second stage (June 1 – August 31 e.n). This initiative came as a response to Dacia’s proposal”, said Ion Glisca.

He added that these measures would help the car park renewal program in the event of drastic cut in car sales. The measure will have a positive impact on car makers as well.

The vice president of CNIPMMR added that the SMEs would propose that the grant to be established according to the market share of each car brand.

As CNIPMMR said, after the first stage of the program, only 7,000 cars have been cleared of the 20,000 vehicles eligible and Dacia is the only manufacturer that managed to exhaust its allocated stock of 1,731 cars.
