Use of Internet Banking services to go up 15% by 2010



The use of internet banking services is expected to grow by 15% by 2010 in case of small companies in Romania and by 12% in case of medium and large sized companies, a recent GfK Romania survey found.
Small companies included by GfK in the study have an average annual turnover lower than 1 million euros, while companies with a turnover above this threshold are labeled as medium and large.

At the end of 2008, nearly half of the medium and large sized companies who participated in the survey said they use internet banking services on a regular basis, as compared to only 39% at end-2006. In small business segment, 30% said they use internet banking versus 16% two years earlier.

Online banking services were used by 40% of the medium and large sized companies surveyed at the end of 2008 and by 21% of small businesses.

Two years earlier, 23% medium and large companies and 10% of the small ones said they use online banking. 33% of the medium and large companies and 21% small companies used telephone banking services at the end of last year.

At the end of 2006, 30% of the medium and large companies and 15% small companies used telephone banking. By the end of 2010, the use of online baking could increase by 12% among small companies and by 11% among medium and large companies, GfK survey found.
