Car scrappage scheme lifts Renaults sales in Romania by 34%



Renault Romania, importer of the French brand in Romania, recorded total sales of 3,505 cars in the first stage of the scheme ran in March-May, of which 1,188 sold through the national car park renewal program, which accounted 34% of the deliveries, company representatives told Wall-Street.
“The market share for first five months of 2009 remained in the same range as a year earlier. It increased to 7.4% in 2009 from 7.3% in 2008”, Renault-Nissan Romania said.

For the first half, Renault forecasts sales of 6.919 units in Romania, down 37% from 10.923 cars in prior-year period.

The French carmaker sold 4.732 units in first five months in Romania, down 44% from 8,426 a year earlier

Renault ships the new Clio lineup in Romania

Renault Romania, will deliver the new Clio family (Clio 3, Clio Estate and Clio Sport) on June 25.

Renault is the best sold imported model in Romania, with 1,822 units delivered in first four months.
