Marc Desenfans to succeed Alexandra Gatej as Chairman of Unilever South Central Europe



Unilever appointed Marc Desefans at the helm of Unilever South Central Europe, the regional company that governs from Bucharest the group’s operations in the Balkans, succeeding Alexandra Gatej.
Prior to this appointment, Marc Desefans has been the managing director of Unilever Francophone West Africa (2003-2009).

Desefans has been working in Unilever group for 23 years, in the sales and marketing department, before taking on his mandate as managing director for Unilever Hong Kong in 1999.

‘I trust Marc will lead the team to continued success and growth of the business. This region has grown in importance in the past years and with the ice cream launch and acquisition we have expanded this footprint. I wish Marc every success’ said Antoine de Saint Affrique, Executive Vice President CEE.

Alexandra Gatej, has completed her mandate in May and became part of Unilever’s team for Central and Eastern Europe as Business Development Director.
