Kurt Strohmayer leaves helm of JW Marriott Bucharest



Kurt Strohmayer, general manager at the Bucharest hotel JW Marriott will officially step down at the end of July. His successor will be Israeli Igael Porecki.
Strohmayer (photo) has been serving as the Marriott’s general manager since 2003 when he replaced Rick Zeolla.

Before taking up the leadership position in Romania, he was general manager at Mallorca Marriott Golf Resort&Spa.

Strohmayer is not the only general manager in Bucharest five-star hotel industry to relinquish his leadership role. In January, the general manager of InterContinental hotel was replaced by the German Marten Schoenrock. Earlier this year, Torbjorn Bodin left his management position at Radisson SAS Bucharest to Yilmaz Yildirimlar.
