Romanian leu remains stable



The National Bank of Romania settled a benchmark exchange rate of 4.2181 lei per euro, down 0.07 percent over the previous session, after the national currency showed a stable evolution, ignoring the volatility of other regional currencies, NewsIn informs.
The central bank posted a benchmark exchange rate of 4.2209 lei per euro in the previous session.

The leu stood at 4.2150 versus the euro in the early trades and then idled close to this level. At 1:10 p.m. banks were buying a euro with 4.2170 lei and selling it for 4.2180 lei.

In the region, the Hungarian forint slipped from 278.5 to 279.5 against the euro, hiked to 276.9 and then slipped to 278.5. The Polish zloty jumped from 4.5375 to 4.4835 over the European currency and then lost ground to 4.50.

BNR also indicated a benchmark exchange rate of 3.0440 lei per dollar today, up 0.36 percent over the 3.0331 level established in the previous session.
