Romanian leu falls slightly against euro



The National Bank of Romania posted a benchmark exchange rate of 4.2114 lei per euro today, up 0.19 percent over the previous session, after the national currency dropped slightly in the early trades, on a market dominated by apathy, following a regional trend generated by risk aversion, NewsIn informs.
NBR posted a benchmark exchange rate of 4.2036 lei per euro in the previous session.

The national currency began session at 4.2040 lei per euro and dipped to a maximum level of 4.2130, but then waved near 4.21. Around 1:50 p.m., the euro was traded for 4.2075 – 4.2140 lei.

In the region, the zloty lost from 4.353 to 4.389 versus the euro, while the forint depreciated from 272.5 to 274 over the single European currency.

For the U.S. dollar, NBR settled a benchmark exchange rate of 3.0263 lei per dollar, up 0.77 percent over the 3.0031 level in the previous session.
