Leu climbs mid-session exchange rate of 4.2152/euro



Romania's national currency, the leu, recouped 0.04 percent against the euro to a benchmark exchange rate of 4.2152 against the euro as the leu's evolution was partially in line with other regional currencies, which posted stronger growth trends, NewsIn informs.
National Bank of Romania posted a benchmark exchange rate of 4.2170 lei per euro in yesterday's session.

The leu appreciated 0.07 percent in the early trades, from 4.2175 to 4.2145 versus the euro and recouped slightly towards opening quotas after noon. At 1:45 p.m. banks bought the euro with 4.2110 lei and sold it for 4.2185 lei.

In the region, the Polish zloty climbed steadily, by 1.95 percent, from 4.4262 to 4.34 units per euro, then went back to 4.3638. The Hungarian forint rose constantly from 279.41 to 274.55 against the euro.

NBR also announced a benchmark exchange rate of 3.0138 lei per euro, marking a 0.5 percent climb of the leu from yesterday's rate of 3.0289.
