Insurance market increased 5.55% in H1

The Romanian insurance market increased by 5.55 percent in the first half of the year, to 4.67 billion lei, as the advance on the general insurance segment offset the decline reported by the life insurance, according to preliminary data of the market watchdog CSA, NewsIn informs.
The general insurance market rallied 7.58 percent in the first half in nominal terms, while the life insurance segment dropped by 2.7 percent, the CSA head Angela Toncescu said.

“These evolutions took place as the premiums for auto insurance policies reported a hike of 7.31 percent, stemming from the growth of insurance premiums for Casco policies by 1.03 percent and from the rise in the premiums corresponding to the auto third party liability class by 17.55 percent,” added Toncescu.
