Zsolt Szalay: Gasoline consumption fell 10% in H1

Managing director of MOL Romania, Zsolt Szalay said first-half gasoline consumption among corporate clients fell by more than 10%, while the consumption among individual clients fell by less than 10% year-on-year.
“The primary cause of these slumps is the economic crisis. The entire market is affected. For 2009, we had expected to break-even. Looking past the recession, the vacation season could revive the market in the second half”, said Zsolt Szalay.

MOL Romania and National Union of Road Transporters (UNTRR) have jointly announced the launch of data download option from drivers’ smart cards and digital tachographs, MOL being the first oil company in Romania to offer this device to drivers.

The drivers will be able to download all his and his car’s activity data stored in the smart card and digital tachographs via a data tool available in MOL filling stations. The tachograph is a device that records the vehicle’s speed, driver activity times - driving, other work, rest and breaks.

MOL is the CEE’s no1 multinational oil and gas company, based in Budapest. MOL group operates in Europe, Middle East, Africa and CIS member states, with a workforce of over 33,000.
