Orange forms strategic partnership with eMag



Orange, Romania’s largest mobile telecommunication company has entered into a strategic relationship with local online retailer eMag, Orange announced.
Following the agreement, eMag clients will have the possibility of acquiring online Orange mobile data subscription every time they buy a laptop or notebook in eMag’s offer.

“Together with the entry of the most popular smartphones, expansion of broadband network capacity, the partnership with eMag is part of Orange’s promotion strategy for mobile data services. We will remain committed to investing in the development of solutions tailored to local market’s needs, together with our major partners in Romania”, said Thierry Millet, Chief Executive Officer Orange Romania.

Depending on the Orange subscription type, eMag will operate a discount ranging between 150 and 450 lei of price of the laptop or notebook acquired online or from eMag’s showroom.

Orange HSDPA 3.2 services serve clients in over 700 cities across the country while HSDPA 7.2 service in 39 cities.

Orange Romania’s has around 10.3 million customers, and in second quarter this year the carrier posted revenues of approximately 267 million euros, down 16.7% from a year earlier.
