3,500 participants in Pillar III pension plan
The total number of participants to Pillar III voluntary private funded accounts exceeded 173,000 at the end of July, 3,500 more than at mid-year, and 22,000 more compared to the beginning of the year, data published by Association for Private Managed Pensions in Romania (APAPR) show.
Around 56,000 new participants joined the third-pillar pension plan over the last 12 months.
The total assets of the 11 pension funds increased by 7.3% in July, passing the 150 mn lei mark. At the end of June, the return of the voluntary private funded accounts averaged 8.75% year-to-date, 9.28% over the last 12 months. The average annual return stood at 6.37% since its launch in May 2007, APAPR informs.
