Cosmotes first-half revenues zoom up 73%



Cosmote, Romania’s largest mobile telecommunication company reported first-half revenues of 203.1 million euros, up 73.9% compared to year-ago period.
Cosmote’s second-quarter revenues went up by 65.1% to 105.0 million euro. Second-quarter results show a 7mn euro increase from Q1.

Apr-Jun results reveal a positive operating income of 22.8 million euro, versus 5 million euros a year earlier.

The growth is supported by the addition of over 224,000 net new subscribers, bringing the total customer base to 6.3 million, 36.4% more than in Q1.

Cosmote Romania is the sole Top3 carriers to post increase this year.

Orange Romania, the largest carrier in the local market said its second-quarter revenues dropped 16.7% YoY, while Vodafone’s turnover fell 17.3%.
