Top 3 best-selling smartphones in Orange shops in H1
In the view of Mihnea Serbu, senior product manager of Orange Romania, a smartphone is designed to a mature, educated consumer with higher-than-average purchase power, influenced at a smaller extent by the current macroeconomic conditions. But which smartphones underlie this description and contributes to the sales recorded by Romania’s largest mobile telecommunication company in first half this year?
3. BlackBerry 8900 Curve
Weighing in at 110 grams and measuring 13.5 mm depth, BlackBerry 8900 Curve is the thinnest smartphone ever created by RIM (Research in Motion). The phone features a 2.4 inch-LCD screen and a 3.2 megapixel camera.
The GSM quad-band terminal with EDGE support for Wi-Fi browsing, has a GPS module and its price ranges between 229 and 319 euros (VAT included).
2. Nokia E71
The phone is targeted to business men with focus on enterprise use and features Symbian operating system 9.2 with S60 interface and QWERTY keypad, measuring only 10mm in depth. The 110MB internal memory can be expanded to maximum 8GB with a microSDHC card slot.
The price of the smartphone starts from 271 euros in an Orange shop.
1. iPhone 3G
Depending on the type of the handset, the type of subscription and period, prices vary. Also, given the promotion campaigns, Orange clients can benefit of substantial discounts. A relevant example is the 8GB iPhone 3G that was available on the online store for 79 euros, the rebate being in the range of 150 euros.
Orange Romania has recently launched the new iPhone 3GS.
“We are confident that the new Apple phone will enjoy a similar success as its previous version, due to its improved features, such as HSDPA 7.2 connectivity or various functions now available through the 3.0 software version (copy/paste, MMS)”, said Serbu.
