Leu stagnates against euro at midsession
The benchmark exchange rate posted by the National Bank of Romania remained at 4.2236 lei per euro, as the leu's advance was insignificant, on a market with low volatility, without important trades, although the emerging currencies strengthened versus the single European currency, NewsIn informs.
NBR yesterday posted a benchmark exchange rate of 4.2238 lei per euro.
The euro was traded for 4.2230 lei at debut and then soared to 4.23. At 1:25 p.m. banks were buying a euro with 4.2212 lei and selling it for 4.2302 lei.
In the region, the Polish zloty climbed from 4.1225 to 4.0875 versus the euro, while Hungary's forint swelled from 269.15 to 268 per euro.
For the U.S. dollar, NBR’s exchange rate slipped 0.03 percent to 2.9538 lei per dollar, from 2.9546 in the previous session.
