BenQ loses share in Romania projector market

BenQ Romania said its share in the local projector market fell sharply from 21 percent in first quarter to 15.23 percent in the second quarter of the year.
The company lost share in projector market during the second quarter of this year, compared to Q1, 2009, down to 15%. However, BenQ keeps its leading position in the CEE projector market in the second quarter, with a nearly 25 percent share, statistics from Futuresource Consulting report show.

In almost all countries in the region, the manufacturer has increased share in Q2 in 2009, Romania and Hungary being the only countries where it had a weaker performance.

By contrast, in first quarter this year, the share of the projector manufacturer declined in the local market to nearly 21percent from 47 percent the same time last year.

The sales of XGA resolution and short-throw projectors had an important contribution, with excellent results in extremely competitive markets such as Croatia, Poland, and Czech Republic.
