KFC adds new outlet to its Romanian restaurant chain



KFC fast-food chain said it would add new outlet to its existent restaurant chain in Bucharest, Romania, adding the expansion was expected to cost around 700,000 euros.
The new restaurant will be located at the intersection between Calea Mosilor and Mihai Eminescu, near a Pizza Hut outlet. The unit will have a gross surface of 300 square meters and will create 40 new jobs.

The company expects the outlet to record sales of 1.5 million euros in the first year.

KFC Calea Mosilor is the 14th restaurants opened in Bucharest and the 35th of its Romanian chain, including KFC Chisinau.

KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) operates in Romania under franchise agreement with US Food Network S.A.

The first restaurant was opened in 1996 in Bucharest. The food company operates 35 restaurants in the local market, including KFC Chisinau, opened at the end of last year.

KFC has invested about 8 million euros in Romania since it entered the market and reported sales of over 8.4 million euros in first quarter this year, 10% up compared to the same period of last year.
