Howard Johnsons managing director Peter Martin steps down, passes baton



After three years in office, Peter Craig Martin stepped down as managing director of the five-star hotel Howard Johnson Grand Plaza Bucharest.
Martin replaced Tinu Sebesanu who was appointed as CEO of advisory company Trend Hospitality.

Martin took over the leadership of the Bucharest hotel in February 2006. “Peter Martin stepped down from the helm of Howard Johnson. In the days to come, we will announce his successor who will officially take up the new duties as of October”, Laura Hamzea, marketing director of the hotel told Wall-Street.

The five-star hotel, Howard Johnson Grand Plaza in Bucharest, one of the largest players in the local lodging market, will post this year 15% lower revenues than in 2008, according to Martin’s statements in June.

Howard Johnson Grand Plaza is part of Wyndham international chain, Trend Hospitality being the representative of the hotel chain. Wyndham’s brand portfolio comprises Days Inn, Travelodge, Ramada, Knights Inn, Super 8 Motel and Wingate Inn.
