Profile - Aurel Netin, Lenovo: The perfect gadget, a combination between notebook and mobile phone

Since July 2006, Aurel Nentin is the country manager Lenovo for Romania & Moldova, local subsidiary of the global PC maker. To him, the most unpleasant gadget-related incident was the transfer of the phonebook to another mobile phone.

1. What gadget's in your pocket, at hand?

A Nokia E71 mobile phone.

2. What was the first gadget you had?

Well, if that can be called a gadget, a first-generation Nokia phone.

3. What was the last tech product you bought?

A Lenovo T400s notebook.

4. The most unpleasant gadget-related incident

The transfer of my phonebook contacts to another mobile phone.

5. How much would you be willing to pay for a cell phone?

500 euros.

6. What features would your ideal phone have?

No battery charging required, light weight, to have a keypad and voice control.

7. What was the first cell phone you've used?

An NMT-based Nokia.

8. What mobile phone manufacturer do you prefer?

Nokia

9. Your favorite tech brand and manager?

I don’t respond to challenges (the answer would favor me…)

10. The most useless gadget you found on sale?

I don’t know, because I am not such a big fan of them.

11. What gadget would you like to buy, if money wasn’t a problem?

It is not about money, it’s more about what you really need. It depends.

12. What type of websites do you access regularly? What is your favorite website?

Generally, I go into news and business websites (online media). Favorite website, http://www.golftipsmag.com/.

13. What was the last acquisition made online?

Two-way airline tickets to Cluj.

14. What is internet to you?

Easy and fast access to information.

15. How would a day in your life without internet look like?

Boring.

16. What do you find attractive in a notebook: its performance or its mobility?

Innovation in the tech industry rests in miniaturization, connectivity and performance.

17. Where will innovation go? What gadget would you create that’s not been made so far?

A product at the borderline between notebook and mobile phone (GPS too maybe).
