Midday Forex: Leu inches up against euro



The benchmark exchange rate settled by the National Bank of Romania slipped to 4.2434 lei per euro, as the local market remains inactive, with narrow fluctuations and low volumes, NewsIn informs.
NBR posted an exchange rate of 4.2436 lei per euro in the previous session.

The national currency waved within a small interval at rising bell, between 4.24 and 4.2470 per euro.

In the region, the Polish zloty climbed on opening and then slipped to 4.11 versus the euro, while Hungary's forint strengthened to 272 per euro.

For the U.S. dollar, the central bank posted a benchmark exchange rate of 2.9572 lei per dollar, indicating a 0.57 percent advance of the national currency over last session.
