Blue Air launches daily Bucharest-Vienna flights



The low-cost air carrier Blue Air, second largest in the local market, will launch new daily direct flights between Bucharest and Vienna from September 14, in order to fill the supply gap caused by the bankruptcy of Sky Europe.
Passengers, who already bought airline tickets from Sky Europe for Bucharest -Vienna or Vienna-Bucharest flights, will benefit of a fixed 59 euro fare for the route, seats number being limited.

Blue Air’s summer schedule includes daily flights to Vienna, following to increase frequency in its winter flight schedule to 12 flights a week namely 2 flights a day from Monday to Friday and one flight a day on Saturdays and Sundays.

Blue Air carried 540,000 passengers in the six months through June this year, 27% more than year-ago period.

The carrier reported first-half sales of 56 million euros (237.7 million lei), up 35% from 47.7 million euros (175.1 million lei) a year earlier.
