Public sector workers to call general strike on October 5

The trade union federations representing the public servants, police officers, teachers and the health staff will call a general strike on October 5, on disputes over with the single wage grid bill, NewsIn informs.
According to the union leaders, some 800,000 public servants will take part in the strike.

The strike will be preceded by a setting out at the Parliament on September 15.

The aim of the protest is to prevent the government to take responsibility on the current single wage grid bill and to renegotiate a single wage law for the employees working in the public sector that observes the principles agreed few months ago, which blocks lay-offs and impedes unpaid leaves this year, said the president of education union FSLI, Aurel Cornea.
