Midday Forex: RON/EUR up 0.02pc



The official exchange rate set by the National Bank of Romania inched up 0.02 percent to 4.2665 lei per euro, after a calm debut, with low transactions, the national currency following the general trend of the regional currencies, which lost significant ground versus the euro, NewsIn informs.
NBR posted an exchange rate of 4.2658 lei per euro in the previous session.

The leu traded between 4.2675 and 4.2720 versus the euro in the early trades and at 1:40 p.m. banks were buying a euro with 4.2645 lei and selling it for 4.2735 lei.

In the region, the zloty fell gradually from 4.13 to 4.163 over the euro, while the forint eased from 271 to 272.15 per euro.

For the U.S. dollar, NBR’s exchange rate rose 0.38 percent to 2.9123 lei per dollar, from 2.9014 in the previous session.
