Blue Air reintroduces Suceava to its timetable

After cancelling flights from Suceava airport on September 16 citing reduced number of passengers and incompatibility between the runway and its Boeing 737 aircrafts, Blue Air has decided to reintroduce flights as of October 1 from Suceava.
“Starting October 1, the routes will be served by a smaller aircraft, a Saab which is much suitable for Suceava airport runway”, Gheorghe Racaru (photo), former head of Blue Air told Wall-Street.

The carrier introduced on July 15, 2009, the first flights to International Airport Stefan cel Mare from Suceava to Venice, Vienna and Cluj-Napoca. “Due to the high number of Romanians in Italy and Italian investors in that region of the country, we have a growing demand on Venice-Suceava route while the number of passengers to Vienna is lower”, Racaru added.

Blue Air is a privately-held local company authorized to operate long and short haul flights, on-demand charter and cargo flights.

The carrier reported €124.1 mln sales in 2008 and expects €170 mln for 2009.
