The three-star Ibis hotel in Sibiu is located in the city’s economic, business and cultural center. The hotel has 195 rooms, 11 apartments and four rooms to accommodate disabled guests, 99 rooms with kingsize bed and 81 twin rooms.

“In the first month – August – the hotel had an occupancy rate of 21%, and by the end of the year we expect an average 52% rate”, said Andreea Gheorghiu, managing director of Ibis Sibiu.

In August-December 2009, the director of the hotel expects revenues of 3 million lei.

“The next Ibis hotel to be opened will be in Timisoara, for which the construction works will start next year. The plan has been delayed due to the construction license for which it took 18 months to receive approval”, said Radu Enache (photo), chairman of Continental Hotels, partner of the French-based hotel operator Accor.

Seven new Ibis hotels will be opened until 2013, company said.
