Midday Forex: Leu recoups some losses vs euro



The official exchange rate set by the National Bank of Romania dropped 0.12 percent to 4.2619 lei per euro, in line with the generally upward trend in the region NewsIn informs.
Yesterday, the leu stood at 4.2760 versus the euro according to NBR.

The national currency traded between 4.2590 and 4.2630 against euro in the early trades. At 1:15 p.m. banks were buying a euro with 4.2590 lei and selling it for 4.2640 lei.

In the region, the Polish zloty soared from 4.2025 to 4.1740 versus the euro, while the Turkish lira inched from 2.1780 to 2.1560 per euro. Hungary's forint idled near 266.80 per euro.

For the U.S. dollar, NBR’s benchmark exchange rate lowered 0.91 percent to 2.8991 lei per dollar, from yesterday's 2.9187.
