Carrefour Romania reports year-to-date sales drop
The local subsidiary of Europe’s largest retailer, Carrefour reported sales of €809 mln in nine months through September this year, down 1.2% from year-ago period, while in third quarter sales fell 11% year-on-year to €277million, the company said.
According to financial data made public by Carrefour on Thursday, in the first nine months in 2008, Carrefour Romania reported sales of €819 mln, while in the third quarter 2008, sales hovered near €312mln.
At a constant exchange rate, sales of Carrefour Romania increased by 14.9% in January-September, and by 5.2% in the third quarter, according to the financial data made public by the French-based retailer.
Carrefour Group reported sales of €70.18bln in the first nine months of the year, down 2.3% year-on-year. In third quarter sales, revenues fell 2.9percent to €24bln compared to year-ago period.
