Midday Forex: Leu flat as investors wait for political stability



The official exchange rate set by the National Bank of Romania increased by 0.02 percent to 4.2911 lei per euro, after trading in quiet conditions, as investors are waiting for a resolution of the political crisis in Romania, NewsIn informs.
NBR yesterday posted an exchange rate of 4.2903 lei per euro.

The national currency traded between 4.2880 and 4.2930 versus the euro in the early trades and at 1:50 p.m. banks were buying a euro with 4.2910 lei and selling it for 4.2930 lei.

In the region, the zloty traded between 4.16 and 4.1790 per euro, while the forint hovered near 264 and 265 versus the single European currency.

For the U.S. dollar, NBR’s exchange rate dropped 0.12 percent to 2.8662 lei per dollar, from 2.8697 in the previous session.
