Midday Forex: Leu trades near psychological barrier of 4.30/euro



The benchmark exchange rate set by the National Bank of Romania increased by 0.04 percent to 4.2930 lei per euro, as the national currency fell in the early trades to 4.2965 and then started to recoup the loss, NewsIn informs.
The single European currency traded near 4.2911 lei yesterday, according to NBR.

The leu fell to 4.2965 versus euro at opening and then climbed to 4.2920. At 2:15 p.m. banks were buying a euro with 4.2930 lei and selling it for 4.2980 lei.

In the region, the Polish zloty hovered around 4.1463 - 4.1840 per euro, while Hungary's forint traded between 262.90 and 265.20 per euro.

For the U.S. dollar, NBR’s exchange rate climbed 0.30 percent to 2.8749 lei per dollar, from 2.8662 in the previous session.
