Midday Forex: EUR/RON trades 0.04% above Fridays closing



Romania's national currency, the leu, advanced slightly in the early trades, on a calm market, without significant trading volumes, the benchmark exchange rate set by the National Bank of Romania edging down 0.04 percent to 4.2877 lei per euro, NewsIn informs.
NBR set an exchange rate of 4.2894 lei per euro in the previous session.

The exchange rate dropped from 4.294 to 4.285 lei per euro at opening and at 1:30 p.m. banks were buying a euro with 4.2831 lei and selling it for 4.2921 lei.

In the region, the Polish zloty rose from 4.1850 to 4.1690 versus the euro and then slipped at 4.1775, while the Hungarian forint declined from 265.95 to 267.50 per euro.

For the U.S. dollar, NBR’s official exchange rate inched 0.02 percent to 2.8513 lei per dollar, from 2.8508 in the previous session.
