Metro promotes private-label items to resellers



Metro Cash&Carry Romania has started a one-month promotion project for the products under own brand, Aro in six of its distribution outlets in the country.
Metro will present during special events to resellers (small retailers) its private-label products range Aro (non-food products at low prices) and Fine Food line (premium food products).

“The series of events will help us provide a sustainable and profitable growth to business that resellers manage. The underlying concept of these events is to provide business solutions to our clients, via our private-label products lines, assistance in refitting stores as well as training courses”, said Anca Vizireanu (photo), Metro’s Food Products Director.

Private-label items come at lower prices than the leading brands, and the price gap results from the fact that the promotion costs are not factored in the private-label products’ final price.

Metro Cash & Carry started operations in Romania in 1996, when the first outlet opened doors in Bucharest. Today, Metro’s chain counts no less than 24 outlets: in Bucharest – 4 (Militari, Voluntari, Berceni and Baneasa), in Brasov, Constanta and Timisoara – 2, and Cluj, Bacau, Iasi, Craiova, Baia Mare, Galati, Ploiesti, Oradea, Sibiu, Suceava, Pitesti, Tg. Mures, Arad and Deva – 1.
