Midday Forex: RON/EUR remains above 4.3



The benchmark exchange rate set by the National Bank of Romania fell 0.07 percent to 4.3017 lei per euro, in quiet trading, without reacting to central bank's rate cut, the national currency following a different evolution from the regional trend, NewsIn informs.
NBR posted an exchange rate of 4.3047 lei per euro yesterday.

The leu traded between 4.3020 and 4.3080 per euro in the early trades and at 1:05 p.m. banks were buying a euro with 4.2982 lei and selling it for 4.3072 lei.

In the region, the Hungarian forint increased from 279.7 to 277.75 versus the euro and then came back to 279.7, while the Polish zloty edged up from 4.31 to 4.28 per euro and dropped to the level reported on opening afterwards.

For the U.S. dollar, NBR’s exchange rate grew 0.77 percent to 2.9376 lei per dollar from 2.9152 in the previous session.
