Average net income increased to 321 in September
Average net income increased in September by 0.8% (11lei) from August, to 1,359 lei (€321), on occasional bonuses and benefits, as well as higher production output, according to the data provided by the National Institute of Statistics.
“Despite that average gross income and net income is slightly higher than a month earlier, it remains below the level recorded in the other months of the year, except for February and May”, the office for statistics said.
In August, the average net income fell 3% (42 lei) month over month, down to 1,348 lei.
The annual growth rate of average income in Romania decreased to 4.9% month on month in the period under review, from 5.6% in August, slightly below the consumer price index of 4.94% in September.
The average gross income stood at 1,860 lei (€439) in the ninth month of the year, 0.8% above month-ago level. When compared to October 1990, the buying power was 23.2% higher in September 2009.
The biggest net salaries were paid in oil and natural gas extraction (3,600 lei, €849), and the lowest in textile industry (788 lei, €186).
