Midday Forex: RON/EUR remains below 4.3 in quiet trading
The benchmark exchange rate set by the National Bank of Romania fell 0.05 percent to 4.2968 lei per euro, after slight advance of the national currency in the early trades, in line with the regional trend, NewsIn informs.
NBR posted an exchange rate of 4.2988 lei per euro in the previous session.
The national currency climbed from 4.3050 to 4.2940 versus the euro at opening and then remained near 4.2960. At 1:05 p.m. banks were buying the euro with 4.2915 lei and selling it for 4.3006 lei.
On the regional markets, the zloty grew from 4.2420 to 4.22 per euro and then eased to 4.2280, while the forint gained from 275.40 to 272.65 over the single European currency.
For the U.S. dollar, NBR’s exchange rate fell 0.72 percent to 2.8655 lei per dollar, from 2.8862 in the previous session.
