Midday Forex: Leu ups slightly vs euro
The National Bank of Romania set a benchmark exchange rate of 4.2961 lei/euro today, down insignificantly from yesterday’s rate of 4.2968 lei/euro in quiet trading, in line with the regional trend.
“Euro fell slightly against the local currency in quiet trade and narrow fluctuations”, a bank broker said. Emerging currencies in the region traded in a narrow range today, and increased slightly against their European peer.
For the US dollar, the central bank posted an official exchange rate of 2.8623 lei/USD, down 0.11% from Monday’s rate of 2.8655.
