Midday Forex: Leu firms slightly vs euro
The benchmark exchange rate set by the National Bank of Romania fell 0.02 percent to 4.2952 lei per euro, following leu’s increase in the early trades, in line with its peers in the region, NewsIn informs.
NRB posted an exchange rate of 4.2961 lei per euro yesterday.
The national currency gained ground from 4.2980 to 4.2945 versus the euro and then fell to 4.2965, while the Polish zloty climbed from 4.1750 to 4.1284 per euro and the Hungarian forint edged up from 271.60 to 269.20 versus its European peer.
For the U.S. dollar, NBR’s exchange rate dropped 0.2 percent to 2.8566 lei per dollar, from 2.8623 in the previous session.
