Midday Forex: EUR/RON edges down
The official exchange rate set by the National Bank of Romania dropped 0.02 percent to 4.2809 lei per euro in quiet trading, in contrast with its emerging peers, NewsIn informs.
NBR posted an exchange rate of 4.2817 lei per euro in the previous session, the lowest since October 9.
The single European currency was traded for 4.2840 lei at rising bell, but the leu soon advanced to 4.2780. At 1:40 p.m. banks were buying a euro with 4.2764 lei and selling it for 4.2855 lei.
In the region, the Polish zloty increased from 4.1375 to 4.1175 versus the euro, while the forint edged up from 269 to 267.5 per euro.
For the U.S. dollar, NBR’s exchange rate fell 0.69 percent to 2.8580 lei per dollar, from 2.8780 in the previous session.
