Midday Forex: EUR/RON gains 0.3%
Romania's national currency fell 0.3 percent against euro at the benchmark exchange rate from yesterday, to 4.2733 lei per euro, after losing ground to its European peer in the morning, in line with the regional trend, NewsIn informs.
The National Bank of Romania posted an exchange rate of 4.2597 lei per euro in the previous session, the lowest level of the past eight weeks.
The leu fell from 4.2750 to 4.2770 versus the euro at wake up call and then hovered near 4.2720 – 4.2740 per euro.
In the region, the Polish zloty eased from 4.1010 to 4.1329 versus the euro, while Hungary's forint climbed from 270.53 to 267.61 per euro.
For the U.S. dollar, NBR’s exchange rate slipped to 2.8342 lei per dollar, from yesterday’s one-year low of 2.8355LEI/USD.
