Midday Forex: Leu gains slightly against euro in quiet trade
The national currency of Romania inched up 0.16 percent to a benchmark level of 4.1738 lei per euro in quiet trading, ahead of the National Day of Romania on December 1, NewsIn informs.
The National Bank of Romania posted an official exchange rate of 4.2807 lei per euro in the previous session.
The leu traded around 4.27 versus the euro this morning.
In the region, the Polish zloty climbed from 4.1952 to 4.14 per euro, while the Hungarian forint went up from 275.50 to 271.58 versus the euro and then eased to 273.
For the U.S. dollar, NBR’s exchange rate dropped 1 percent to 2.8396 lei per dollar, from 2.8691 in the previous session.
