Unit labor costs climbed 0.32% in Q3



Quarterly indicator of unit labor costs per hour, adjusted by the number of business days rose in third quarter by 0.32% from previous quarter. The annual growth rate remained high at 8.01%, data provided by the National Institute of Statistics show.
In the second quarter, labor costs per hour increased by 1.51% from the first three months, after falling 0.75% in Q1 on a quarterly basis.

Quarterly indicator of labor costs went up 0.18% in third quarter from Q2 and stood 7.89% above Jul-Sep 2008 level. The unit labor cost is defined as the wage expenses (direct) and non-wage expenses (indirect).

Adjusted hourly compensation grew in mining and quarrying (13.1%), energy, natural gas, hot water and air conditioning (8.06%) and education (7.16%).

The indicator fell in financial intermediation and insurances (-9.66%), health care and social services (-4.87%) and trade (-3.02%).
