Dacia car manufacturing plant to produce 150,000 Duster cars



Around 150,000 Dacia Duster could come off the assembly line in Romania, while the maximum production capacity at the carmaker’s facilities in Brazil in Russia could roll out up to 100,000 and 80,000 cars, said Gerard Detourbet, Renault's entry programme vice-president.
Automobile Dacia announced on Tuesday that the new Duster will come off the assembly line in spring next year, and that the the Pitesti factory, which is the principal production facility for entry-range models, will supply all these markets with both Dacia- and Renault- badged versions.

Duster will expand into other parts of the world in 2011. It will be distributed in the Gulf States, supplied from Pitesti, and will also be built alongside Logan, Sandero and Sandero Stepway in Brazil, and at a later date in Moscow, Russia.

The car that measures 4.31 metres in length and 1.82 metres, in width, comes in both 4x2 and 4x4 versions of which will be available with either a 1.6 16V 110hp petrol engine or with 85 dCi or 105 dCi diesel power.

Duster is the sixth vehicle in the Dacia range, after Logan, Sandero and Logan MCV, plus Logan van and Logan pick-up.
