Groupama hires sales director from rival Generali
Groupama Insurance has appointed Dragos Calin as country sales director for distribution network management.
Dragos Calin, aged 43, brings a 12-year experience in insurances. Prior to joining Groupama, he served as commercial director of Generali Insurance for 5 years where he was responsible for the development of sales force and distribution strategy through multiple channels, relation with the brokers and marketing activity.
As of January 2010, the manager will oversee the sales activity and will be responsible for the company-wide implementation of marketing policy. Dragos Calin will report to Denis Rousset, Groupama’s chief executive for Romania.
“Dragos Calin has an extensive experience in insurances, and joins Groupama in an opportune moment of countrywide sales strategy consolidation”, said Rousset.
Dragos Calin began his career in insurances in 1997 at Nederlanden Life Insurance, where he held various sales positions. He followed specialized courses in sales management, capital markets, and improvement of organizational performance.
Groupama Romania was established after the merger between Asiban and BT Asigurari Transilvania and the integration of OTP Garancia’s sales strucuture.
