BET index closes 3.7% higher



Bucharest Stock Exchange showed a hefty 3.5% gain today, as the index of the ten most actively traded stocks at BSE (BET) posted 3.7% increase at closing, buoyed by Petrom shares and banks.
Today’s trading volume at the Bucharest Stock Exchange grew markedly to 15.96 million lei (€3.79 million), from Monday when it stood at 6.64 million lei.

BET index that gauges the performance of the ten most liquid stocks at the BSE jumped 3.69% to 4.926.55 points, while composite BET-C added 3.55% to 2,838.63 points.

BET-FI index of the five financial investment companies (SIF) gained 2.07% to 24,952.94 while Vienna’s ROTX closed 3.68% higher to 10,161.75.

BET-XT of the 25 most traded stocks at the BSE climbed 3.19% to 484.21, while BET-NG index of the ten energy stocks grew 3.33% to 623.42.

European stocks started to rally at noon, led by banks, after Barclays had lifted its profit outlook. At the London Stock Exchange, FTSE index of leading 100 shares was growing 0.38% to 5,521.31 points, while Germany’s DAX was shedding 0.28% to 6,031.47. France’s CAC40 was inching up 0.15% to 4,019.82 points.

FIC Oltenia shares (BSE:SIF5) have been the most traded stocks today with a total trading volume of 3.54 million lei and gained 3.08% to 1.34 lei, followed at wide margin by FIC Moldova (BSE:SIF2) with 1.72% advance to 1.18 lei and a liquidity of 2.21 million lei.

Banca Transilvania (BSE:TLV) shares gained 2.76% to 2.23 lei after shares worth 1,75 million lei changed hands. Erste Bank shares rose 3.87% to 115.40lei in a liquidity of 1.38 million lei.

Transactions with Petrom shares (BSE:SNP) totaled 1.25 million lei, while shares soared 5.16% to 0.265 lei. Rompetrol Rafinare (BSE:RRC) climbed 2.94% to 0.665 lei, in a liquidity of 515,200 lei.
