State-run gas company Transgaz will organize on February 15, 2010, 10:00a.m an open tender for selecting the contractors that will repair and retrofit the deteriorated natural gas pipeline 32’’ Sendreni Butimanu, including cathodic protection, a contract estimated at 23.576.530 lei.
The selection criterion is the lowest price. The duration of the contract or the deadline for the completion of repair works is eight months.

The deadline for submission of bids for the pipeline rehabilitation is February 15, 2010, 9:00 a.m.

The deputy managing director of the gas company, Ioan Rusu, said earlier this month that the gas carrier had earmarked 400 million lei for investments in new gas pipelines and in the improvement works in progress.

“The investments planned for 2010 will be slightly higher than in 2009 and will be around 400 million lei. The total value of investments made by Transgaz in 2009 is estimated at 325 million lei. Our plans will be funded from own sources and structural funds”, said Ioan Rusu.

This year, the company will thus build new gas pipelines, such as those on sections: Masloc-Arad, Urziceni-Ploiesti, Plataresti-Balaceanca, Idrifaia-Coroi, Hurezani-Podisor, Craiova-Segarcea-Bailesti-Calafat.

Transgaz will also restart the construction works initiated in previous years at sections Harlau-Bucecea, Biharia-Alesd, Jibou-Gilau, Gheorgheni-Toplita, as well as at the interconnection pipeline Arad-Szeged.

Transgaz is a state-run natural gas carrier: the Ministry of Economy holds 73.3% interest, Fondul Proprietatea – 15% and the remaining 11.5% stake consist of free-float shares listed at the Bucharest Stock Exchange. Transgaz is listed at the first category of BSE, under ticker TGN.
