Alpha Bank borrows 50 mn from EIB



Alpha Bank borrowed €50 million from the European Investment Bank for SMEs financing of small and medium-scale projects in agriculture, industry, services, as well priority investments in infrastructure, energy, environment, industry, health and education.
The biggest loan that a company can take out under this program is €12.5 million, and the total cost of a project must not exceed €25 million, Alpha Bank Romania said in a statement.

“SME sector is a strategic priority for Alpha Bank Romania. The bank has actively personalized and extended the service and product range dedicated to SMEs development. The new loan from EIB, Alpha Bank will continue to support entrepreneurs in Romania”, said Sergiu Oprescu, chief executive of Alpha Bank Romania.

Alpha Bank Romania is one of the few banks to support the development of small and medium sized companies by borrowing in 2001 and 2003 from European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
