BRD, the first bank admitted as custodian agent for Sibex
BRD Groupe Societe Generale will provide settlement services and depository services for Sibex Depository as of January 22. BRD is the first bank authorized as custodian agent for Sibex spot market, according to a release from the institution.
“BRD – Groupe Societe Generale has been actively involved in the Romanian capital market, becoming the first bank admitted as custodian agent to Sibex Depository and the first bank to provide settlement services for transactions with financial instruments registered at the regulated market of Sibiu Monetary Financial and Commodities Exchange”, said Claudia Ionescu, head of Securities Division at BRD.
Securities Division will provide depository, custody and securities settlement services to issuers. Its activities are mainly geared towards institutional clients – investment funds, pension funds, insurance companies. BRD will thus become the leading depository service provider in the market, with a share of 40%.
