FICs jump 4% on positive news from US



The index of the five financial investment companies at BSE (BSE:SIF) jumped 4% in today’s trading, buoyed by the earning results released by US companies.
The liquidity at the stock market stood at 23.43 million lei (€5.69 million), from yesterday’s level of 16.51 million lei (€4 million).

BET index that gauges the performance of the ten most actively traded stocks at BSE gained 2.69% to 5,088.34 points, while composite BET-C jumped 2.50% to 2,978.45 points.

BET-FI index of the five financial investment companies (BSE:SIF) closed 4.08% higher to 27,806.60 points while Vienna’s ROTX rose 2.23% to 10,477.32 points.

BET-XT index of the 25 most traded stocks at BSE moved 3.19% higher today to 512.69 points, while BET-NG index of the ten energy companies increased by 2.12% to 654.30 points.

European stocks were posting modest gains at BSE’s closing, propped up by positive financial results released by US companies. At the London Stock Exchange, FTSE index of the leading 100 companies was growing 0.49% to 5,243.11 points, while Germany’s DAX was rising 0.53% to 5,673.01 points. France’s CAC40 was climbing 0.37% to 3,773.59 points.

FIC Oltenia shares (BSE:SIF5) have been the most traded stocks today, with shares worth 5.32 million lei changing hands, while stock prices closed 3.4% higher to 1.52 lei. FIC Moldova (BSE:SIF2) finished 3.97% higher to 1.31 lei.

In the banking sector, Banca Transilvania shares (BSE:TLV) jumped 4.41% to 2.13 lei, while BRD SocGen (BSE:BRD) gained 3.5% to 14.80 lei.

Trades with Rompetrol Well Services (BSE:PTR) totaled 1.31 million lei, as stock moved 4.71% up to 0.422 lei. Petrom shares (BSE:SNP) increased by 2.93% to 0.281 lei in a liquidity of 535.550 lei.
