Hewlett-Packard to hire 600 staff in 2010

HP’s remote processing services center, Global eBusiness Operations Center (BeBOC) said it would increase headcount by 30% (600 staff) by the end of the year, by attracting students and individuals with 1-2 year experience.
The news came after Alcatel-Lucent announced it would hire 200 at its Timisoara unit.

“GeBOC plans to boost its team by attracting students and young graduates and also young people with 1-2 year experience. Our recruitment plan will focus on applicants with multi-lingual capabilities”, said Anca Tapai, staffing lead Hewlett-Packard Romania.

Apart from a great command of English, the employer’s requirements include linguistic skills of other European language such as: German, French, Spanish, Italian, Nordic languages (Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish) or Portuguese, Hebrew, Russian or other Slavic languages (Polish, Slovak, Czech).

The selected candidates will take training professional courses and receive assistance from GeBOC specialists.

GeBOC runs central back-end operation supporting business admin processes, web maintenance, logistics, procurement, database maintenance, credit and collection services, and sales support in 22 languages.

The global delivery center presently has 2,000 employees with multi-lingual capabilities to support financial and administrative business processes for partners and customers in the region.
